A picture of the author at Skukuza Camp in the Kruger
National Park, South Africa. This visit was essential to his research into one
of the many locations used in his latest novel – A Poacher Kill-Continued
Adventures of Sopwith Jones. He is fastiduous about creating the right
backdrops in his books, which he believes he cannot accurately portray without
being personally familiar with what he writes about. The story begins in
Phalaborwa, a mining town alongside the Kruger Park, with action events in the
Park itself, mainly in the Skukuza area. He was previously not familiar with
that region of the vast game reserve, one of the most well known in the world.
The story continues to play out in Johannesburg and Pretoria, cities which are
familiar to him. A visit to Port Afred, featured in Fly Away, forms part of the
story. Dramatic closing scenes take place at Lanseria airport and in Pretoria.
Keep your eyes skinned for the release of A Poacher Kill!
